【Good News】Shenzhen Cell Valley Appointed as Vice President Unit of a National First-Level Industry Association

From August 19 to 20, 2023, the inaugural meeting of the Cell Medicine Branch of the China Food and Drug Corporation Quality and Safety Promotion Association (FDSA) and the Cell Medicine High-Quality Development Forum were successfully held at the Longxi Weijing International Conference Center in Daxing,

Beijing. Chairman Professor Shi Yuanyuan was invited to attend and presided over the meeting.

The inaugural meeting of the Cell Medicine Branch of the China Food and Drug Corporation Quality and Safety Promotion Association was chaired by our Chairman, Professor Shi Yuanyuan.

First, Mao Zhenbin, former Director of the Enforcement Bureau of the former State Food and Drug Administration and President-elect of the Second Session of the FDSA, solemnly presented the plaque for the "Cell Medicine Branch." He then presented the "Appointment Letters as Vice Presidents of the Cell Medicine Branch" to Professor Wu Zhihong, Professor Shi Yuanyuan, Professor Xiong Lei, Professor Chen Jiekai, Professor Yin Mingzhu, and Professor Chen Zhe, and presented the "Letter of Appointment as Chairman of the Expert Committee of the Cell Medicine Branch" to Professor Wu Zhihong. Our Chief Scientist, Professor Wang Jianxun, serves as Vice Chairman of the Expert Committee. Subsequently, Professor Chen Junhui and Professor Wu Zhihong presented the "Appointment Letters as Vice Chairmen of the Expert Committee of the Cell Medicine Branch" to the various expert members.

In the subsequent Cell Medicine Industry High-Quality Development Forum, our Senior R&D Scientist Dr. Fu Yuchen delivered a keynote speech titled "Establishment of a Standardized and Normalized Industrial Production System for Cell and Gene Therapy Vectors." He introduced the background and development prospects of the cell and gene therapy industry, vector selection (a comparative analysis of lentivirus and retrovirus), the establishment of a standardized and normalized industrial production system for viral vectors, and an introduction to Shenzhen Cell Valley's development history, technical team, and corporate strength. He stated that with advances in technology and growing public attention to health, the market application prospects for cell and gene therapy are continuously expanding. It can provide new approaches for the treatment of diseases in multiple fields including tumor therapy and cancer treatment, contributing to improved therapeutic outcomes and better quality of life for patients.

About the China Food and Drug Corporation Quality and Safety Promotion Association (FDSA)

The China Food and Drug Corporation Quality and Safety Promotion Association (FDSA) was established on March 11, 2016. It is a national, industry-based, non-profit social organization with independent legal entity status, registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs following joint review by four ministries—the former State Food and Drug Administration, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the National Health and Family Planning Commission, and the Ministry of Agriculture—and approval by the State Council.

The Cell Medicine Branch of the China Food and Drug Corporation Quality and Safety Promotion Association (FDSA-CMA) is a secondary branch of the FDSA. Led by Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, in accordance with the Constitution of the China Food and Drug Corporation Quality and Safety Promotion Association and the Management Measures for Branch (Representative) Organizations of the China Food and Drug Corporation Quality and Safety Promotion Association, and in collaboration with over 10 institutions in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, and other locations, it submitted an application to the FDSA on August 23, 2022, and was approved for establishment on April 4, 2023. It has currently absorbed 308 member units from 30 provinces, municipalities directly under the Central Government, autonomous regions, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan across the country.
