Academician Professor Yan Xiyun of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Delegation Visit Shenzhen Cell Valley for Exchange

On July 24, Professor Yan Xiyun, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of the Central Plain Nanozyme Laboratory, along with Professor Duan Demin, Deputy Director, and Professor Duan Hongxia, Director of the Bio-Innovation Technology Center, visited Shenzhen Cell Valley for exchange and discussion. Our Chairman, Professor Shi Yuanyuan; Deputy General Manager, Tang Xiaomeng; Assistant to the Chairman, Wei Zheng; Head of R&D, Dr. Zhao Lijun; and Senior R&D Scientist, Dr. Fu Yuchen, extended a warm welcome to the delegation.

Accompanied by Professor Shi Yuanyuan, Academician Yan Xiyun and her delegation gained an in-depth understanding of Shenzhen Cell Valley's development and construction progress.

During the symposium, the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge technologies and research directions in the biomedical field, as well as comprehensive strategic cooperation between the Central Plain Nanozyme Laboratory and Shenzhen Cell Valley. Professor Shi Yuanyuan warmly welcomed Academician Yan and her team, expressing his hope that through collaboration, they could enhance scientific research and innovation capabilities and accelerate the market translation of research outcomes. Professor Shi noted that the original target discovered by Academician Yan's team holds tremendous potential in cell therapy for acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and is expected to bring significant breakthroughs in the treatment and diagnosis of this most challenging hematologic malignancy. Academician Yan's guidance has provided invaluable inspiration for Shenzhen Cell Valley's R&D efforts. The team is fully committed to expediting the clinical application of cell therapy products targeting this domestically discovered original target, bringing benefit to cancer patients.

Academician Yan highly appreciated Professor Shi Yuanyuan and the Shenzhen Cell Valley team's efforts and achievements in the cell therapy field. She stated that the Central Plain Nanozyme Laboratory would continue to invest resources, continuously innovate in the treatment of AML and solid tumors, accelerate R&D progress, and translate research outcomes into practical applications. Academician Yan expressed her hope that both sides would jointly explore the application of domestically discovered original targets in cell therapy and disease diagnosis, making greater contributions to society and the cause of health.

About the Central Plain Nanozyme Laboratory

The Central Plain Nanozyme Laboratory was established in October 2023, with Academician Yan Xiyun of the Chinese Academy of Sciences serving as its Director. The laboratory is led by the Henan Academy of Medical Sciences, Zhengzhou University, and Henan University, integrating scientific and technological resources from Henan Agricultural University, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, and other higher education institutions and research institutes.
