During the symposium, Professor Shi Yuanyuan provided a detailed introduction to the current state of cell therapy both domestically and internationally, the company's strategic layout, and its core technologies. Professor Shi noted that the Shenzhen Cell Valley South China Cell Factory project is a major municipal project approved by the Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission, and serves as a key public service platform for Shenzhen's biopharmaceutical industry. The company collaborates with numerous top-tier tertiary hospitals to jointly advance clinical research and application development in cell therapy. Cell therapy has achieved remarkable success in improving patient survival rates and reducing the cancer burden. Leveraging its domestically leading GMP-grade industrial-scale production processes for retroviral vectors, the company has provided high-quality and safe customized target-specific CAR cell preparation services to multiple well-known medical institutions both domestically and internationally. Dozens of patients with hematologic malignancies who had failed prior treatments and experienced relapse or drug resistance have achieved significant remission after receiving CAR-T cells prepared by the Cell Valley team. Additionally, the NK and CAR-NK cell therapy products recently launched by Cell Valley have been widely applied in clinical research for solid tumors such as liver cancer and pancreatic cancer, as well as autoimmune diseases. Shenzhen Cell Valley remains committed to its mission and values of "Cells benefit all, genes create the future," dedicated to addressing key constraints in cell therapy drugs/clinical treatment—including technology, cost, production capacity, and talent—and to opening more therapeutic pathways for patients.

Party Secretary Xiao Liehui of Southern Medical University Shenzhen Hospital noted that cell therapy is emerging as a new focal point in the development of the healthcare industry. The future model of clinical cell therapy will be full-cycle and comprehensive, and its widespread adoption and promotion will rely on the sustained technological development by research teams, as well as the translational application by high-level clinical diagnostic and therapeutic teams. The Clinical Medicine Innovation Center of Southern Medical University Shenzhen Hospital is a comprehensive platform approved by the Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission, integrating basic medicine, clinical translation, and precision medicine. It can conduct scientific research around clinical problems and explore more innovative and effective treatment methods for patients.

Both parties expressed their commitment to fully leveraging their respective technological resources, core teams, and platform advantages to jointly contribute to the advancement of clinical applications in cell therapy.

About Southern Medical University Shenzhen Hospital

Southern Medical University Shenzhen Hospital is a grade-A tertiary hospital jointly established by the Shenzhen Municipal Government and Southern Medical University. It officially opened in December 2015 and is the first "Famous Hospital" project implemented under Shenzhen's "Three Famous Projects" (Famous Doctors, Famous Clinics, and Famous Hospitals) healthcare initiative. It is the only university-affiliated hospital within the Qianhai Free Trade Zone capable of simultaneously undertaking medical care, education, and research missions.

The Clinical Medicine Innovation Center of Southern Medical University Shenzhen Hospital is a comprehensive platform integrating basic medicine, clinical translation, and precision medicine, approved by the Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission. The Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Viral Oncology, based on the high-level oncology research team of the Clinical Medicine Innovation Center, conducts in-depth exploration of the molecular mechanisms and key nodes of virus-related tumorigenesis and progression from multiple perspectives, including disease genomics, epigenetics, microbiome, and tumor microenvironment research. On this basis, the center undertakes research on liquid biopsy technologies, tumor immunotherapy technologies, and exosome nanodrug delivery technologies, exploring and establishing novel precision molecular diagnostic and targeted therapeutic approaches for virus-associated tumors, which could help reduce the incidence and mortality of virus-related cancers.

The Clinical Medicine Innovation Center is research-oriented, with the aim of cultivating practical and innovative research capabilities among hospital postgraduates and research staff. Based on open sharing of laboratory resources to the entire hospital and supported by existing experimental conditions, the center has achieved the cultivation of research competence and academic advancement among laboratory personnel, providing strong support for the hospital's clinical discipline development and technological capacity enhancement.
