During the visit, the Qiaokou District leaders toured the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cell Valley and received briefings on Shenzhen Cell Valley Group's CRO/CDMO services for cell and gene therapy, GMP-grade cell manufacturing, viral vector and engineered delivery platforms, exosome technology development, clinical research support, and international business expansion. The two sides held in-depth discussions on topics including clinical research of emerging biomedical technologies in hospitals, clinical translational application, construction of regional public service platforms, and introduction of industrial ecosystems.

During the symposium, the two sides focused on exploring feasible pathways to facilitate the implementation of cooperative projects such as "Qiaogang Cell Valley" by leveraging Qiaokou District's medical resources, location advantages, and health industry foundation, combined with the Cell Valley Group's experience in cell and gene therapy industrialization, clinical translation services, quality system development, and hospital collaboration networks. Both sides agreed that against the backdrop of accelerating policy implementation for clinical research and translational application of emerging biomedical technologies, regional platform construction could become an important lever to promote coordinated development among medical institutions, research resources, industrial enterprises, and capital.

Shi Yuanyuan announced during the talks that the Cell Valley Group has officially launched the construction of the "Qiaogang Cell Valley" project. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Cell Valley Group, the project will be located in the Tongji Hanjiangwan Health Industry Park in Qiaokou District, Wuhan. Leveraging its strengths in the full-chain technology platform for cell and gene therapy, GMP production and quality control systems, clinical research services, and cross-regional project implementation, the Cell Valley Group will actively participate in the industrial ecosystem development of the biopharmaceutical industry in Wuhan and Qiaokou District, helping to build a public service platform for clinical translation of emerging biomedical technologies and industrial services serving Central China.

Zhao Hongliang noted that Qiaokou District places high importance on the development of the life and health industry. The district boasts high-quality medical education, research, and tertiary clinical resources including Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and its affiliated Tongji Hospital, providing a solid foundation for developing clinical research and translational application of emerging biomedical technologies. He expressed hope for further strengthened engagement with the Cell Valley Group, fully leveraging Qiaokou's advantages in the concentration of medical education and research resources, abundant clinical scenarios at top-tier tertiary hospitals, and a solid health industry foundation, to deepen practical cooperation in project implementation, joint platform development, resource coordination, and industrial introduction, jointly promoting the clustering of high-quality biomedical projects in Qiaokou and supporting the district in building a regionally influential life and health industry hub.

This visit and exchange further enhanced mutual understanding and laid a solid foundation for subsequent cooperation on the construction of public service platforms for the cell and gene therapy industry, clinical translation project collaboration, and joint development of a regional health industry ecosystem. Both sides will take this exchange as an opportunity to continue advancing the implementation of specific cooperation initiatives, helping emerging biomedical technologies better serve clinical needs and public health.
